Trina Solar has released a new 500W+ ultra-high power module with a capacity of more than 5GW by the end of the year

On February 27th, Trina Solar Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as “Trina Solar” or “the company”), the world’s leading provider of Smart PV Solutions, held a global online product launch event, and the company’s newly developed ultra-high power Vertex modules (hereinafter referred to as “Vertex series”) were officially unveiled. Based on the 210mm silicon wafer and PERC monocrystalline cell, the Vertex series adopts the innovative version design, the power can break through 500W, the efficiency is up to 21%, leading the industry to formally enter the Solar 5.0 Era.

The Vertex series includes two kinds of modules: Bifacial Dual-Glass module and backsheet. According to the calculated data of large ground power stations in Heilongjiang province, China, compared with the conventional bifacial dual-glass module with output power of 410W, the Vertex series bifacial dual-glass module with output power of 500W can reduce BOS by 6% to 8% and LCOE by 3% to 4%, with significant cost reduction advantages. The company will officially receive orders in the second quarter of 2020, and it is expected to realize mass production of the Vertex series in the third quarter of 2020, with a capacity of more than 5GW by the end of the year.
