Satcon to deliver solar solutions for US PV plant

Satcon Technology has been selected to supply 51MW of its photovoltaic (PV) inverter solutions to a power plant in California, US.

The company will provide its Equinox Prism Platform solution, an integrated multi-megawatt medium voltage (MV) building block and 1.5MW of its next generation Equinox inverter systems, to the San Diego Gas & Electrin grid under a large generator interconnection agreement.

Equinox Prism Platform is a multi-megawatt solution which features factory-integrated step-up transformers, MV disconnect switches and power conversion electronics.

The solution is based on Satcon's PowerGate Plus inverter leverages its next-generation Equinox PV inverters which offer 98.5% peak efficiency rate and thermal operating range.

Satcon's solution can be integrated into supervisory control and data acquisition systems and allows for remote control of real and reactive power, low-voltage ride through and power factor control.

The solar PV power plant site is scheduled to be energised in the first half of 2013.
