Mahindra EPC division commissions rooftop solar plant in India

Mahindra City Developers in partnership with Mahindra EPC Services' off-grid division has commissioned a 75kW rooftop solar plant at Chennai, India.

The 800m2 system is located on the roof top of The Canopy, a commercial complex in Mahindra City.

The solar power system will generate more than 116,000 kWh of clean energy and reduce nearly 60 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.

Mahindra Partners Cleantech Ventures division business head Vish Palekar said that the company plans to play a larger role in off-grid systems.

"Along with rooftops, we are also working closely to solarise telecom towers and power IT centres," said Palekar.

The Mahindra EPC business (MEPC), established under Cleantech Ventures is focused building large scale grid connected solar power plants and rooftop solutions for developers and commercial organisations.

The MEPC Off-grid division has commissioned projects across residential buildings, carports and special economic zones.
