Downing acquires Higher Witheven Solar project

Investment manager Downing has completed the acquisition of the Higher Witheven Solar project, in Launceston.

Higher Witheven has a 42.5 MW capacity, with grid connection and project completion expected in Q4 2027.

Sean Moore, senior investment director at Downing, said: “We’re delighted to be acquiring Higher Witheven Solar.

“The acquisition aligns with Downing’s long-term investment strategy, which focuses on building and managing high-quality renewable energy assets that deliver stable returns while supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy system.”

Downing has a successful track record in developing, investing and managing renewables, storage and grid support infrastructure. Since 2010, Downing’s Energy & Infrastructure team has made more than 200 investments and has around ?920 million of assets under management in the solar, wind, hydro and battery storage sectors with an expected annual energy generation of around 855GWh.
