JinkoSolar, one of the largest and most innovative solar module manufacturers in the world, announces its participation in the construction of a 20 MW solar power plant in the Naryn District of the Kyrgyz Republic. The project, developed by LLC “T-Energy,” marks a significant step forward in the country’s transition to clean and sustainable energy.
Located in the Min-Bulak village at an elevation of nearly 2,000 meters above sea level, the solar power plant will be equipped with 32,292units of JinkoSolar Tiger Neo photovoltaic modules, covering an area of approximately 33 hectares. The site is characterized by excellent solar irradiation, with average annual global horizontal irradiation levels ranging from 1,600 to 1,750 kWh/m?, as confirmed by SolarGIS data.
The plant will feature a DC capacity of 20 MW and an AC capacity of 15.4 MW. A detailed PVsyst simulation has validated the expected energy yield and system performance.
The project aligns with Kyrgyz Republic’s national priorities to diversify its energy mix, enhance energy security, and reduce dependency on hydropower, which is subject to seasonal fluctuations. By injecting clean electricity into the national grid during peak daylight hours, the plant will contribute to greater stability and reliability of the power system.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), approved by the State Environmental Expertise of the Kyrgyz Republic on March 26, 2024, confirmed the project’s compliance with national environmental standards. During operation, the solar plant will generate zero emissions, produce no industrial waste, and significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, supporting the country’s international climate commitments.
The total investment for the project is estimated at approximately KGS 600 million. Phase 1 financing is provided by OJSC Eldik Bank, while Phase 2 financing is under review by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and OJSC Kyrgyz Investment Commercial Bank.
Beyond its environmental benefits, the project is expected to create both temporary and permanent jobs during construction and operation phases, contributing to local socio-economic development and strengthening the investment appeal of the Naryn Region.
