Romanian renewables developer Enexus will deploy 50 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity in the southern town of Titu, Dambovita county, using liquid-cooled BESS technology developed by China-based renewable technology company LONGi, the two companies said on Wednesday.
“Building on more than 200 MW of LONGi solar PV modules deployed across Enexus projects since 2025, the agreement marks Enexus’s first deployment of LONGi’s advanced BESS technology,” the two companies said in a joint press release.
As many as 10 units of LONGi’s liquid-cooled BESS solution will be deployed at two distinct solar-plus-storage projects in Dambovita county. One of them is the Titu 1 project, with an installed capacity of 20 MWp and 15 MWh BESS, which was developed in partnership with Turkish renewables investor Akis Enerji, part of the Ulusoy Enerji Yatirimlari group. It is fully completed and awaiting connection to the grid. The other one is the Titu 3 project, with an installed capacity of 35 MWp and 35 MWh BESS, currently under development by Turkey-based FTZ Group.
The projects contribute to Romania’s updated National Energy and Climate Plan, which targets about 5.8 GW of ground-mounted solar capacity and at least 2.5 GW of rooftop solar capacity by 2030.
“Enexus has been a key partner for LONGi in South-Eastern Europe, having successfully deployed 200 MW of our high-efficiency PV modules. Expanding our collaboration into utility-scale energy storage with this 50 MWh deal in Titu demonstrates the immense value of a unified hardware and software ecosystem,” LONGi Europe president Leon Zhang said. By pairing our PV modules with our Energy Storage solutions, we are delivering a turnkey, grid-ready solution that maximizes yield, support local grid stability, and accelerates Romania’s transition to a decarbonized power system.”
Established in 2014, Enexus specialises in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services, asset management, and investment facilitation for solar and energy storage projects. It has projects in Romania, Turkey, Italy, and Ukraine.
Founded in 2000, LONGi is present in several business sectors, including mono silicon wafers cells and modules, commercial and industrial distributed solar solutions, energy storage, green energy solutions, and hydrogen equipment.
